ETLLP partners and practices ranked in Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific 2024

ET LLP ranked in four practice areas, 2 partners ranked individually

In the latest edition of Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific rankings published annually and officially launched on 3 May 2024, we are delighted to announce that our newly appointed managing partner, Suang Wijaya has, for the first time, been named as one of the “Future Stars” in Commercial and Transactions. Founding partner Eugene Thuraisingam retains his ranking as a “Litigation Star” in the White-Collar Crime category for a third year in a row.

Eugene Thuraisingam LLP has also been ranked for four practices: (1) Commercial and Transactions; (2) White-Collar Crime; (3) International Arbitration – Domestic firms; and (4) Labour and employment. The Firm’s ranking in Labour and employment has levelled up from “other notable” to Tier 3.

In retaining its ranking as a highly recommended firm for white-collar crime, the Firm is proud to stand alongside other long-established firms in the industry.

Benchmark Litigation Analysis on the rankings

In this year’s edition of Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific rankings which may be accessed here, it was noted in their analysis that the Firm’s “criminal defence litigation practice deserves special mention, with the team celebrating numerous achievements in tough cases before the state.” The analysis also noted that the Firm’s success in persuading the High Court to make a novel finding in favour of its client’s standing to challenge a winding up on grounds that it is an abuse of process when the company appears to be insolvent.

The analysis further highlighted the following feedback on the Firm’s partners:

  • Suang Wijaya was also noted to be “Very focused on achieving the best possible result for his clients. Personally invested in the welfare and success of his clients while being very competent and professional.”
