Since 2012, pro bono advocacy has been central to our mission, focusing on marginalised individuals, including death row inmates, and public interest litigation. Our dedication was recognised with the Champions of Good Award in 2024.
Over the years, we have been involved in several landmark cases. These include securing the acquittal of a man on death row through the reopening of a concluded criminal appeal. It was an unprecedented move in Singapore’s legal history, challenging the limits of judicial review in capital drug cases and resulted in a key ruling on prosecutorial discretion and mental health defences.
As part of our Diversity and Inclusion advocacy initiatives, we have also contributed to the advancement of constitutional law through a case challenging the now-repealed Section 377A of the Penal Code.
