Annotated Laws of Singapore
Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act 1992, Misuse of Drugs Act 1973 and Criminal Procedure Code 2010 Annotations
1. Background
The team at Eugene Thuraisingam LLP comprising Suang Wijaya, Chooi Jing Yen, Joel Wong, Sophia Ng, Chen Yongxin, and Ariffin Sha, and Mervyn Cheong of Advocatus Law LLP were invited to contribute their commentaries and explanatory notes for Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act 1992 (“CDSA”), Misuse of Drugs Act 1973 (“MDA”), and Criminal Procedure Code 2010 (“CPC”) on Lexis Advance® Annotated Laws of Singapore.
2. Written by legal experts
Previously titled ‘Singapore Annotated Statutes’, now re-titled to Annotated Laws of Singapore, Lexis Nexis has successfully launched and made these annotations available online for subscribed members. This flagship collection of legal commentary on Singapore legislation is written by legal experts providing section-by-section analysis to the provisions contained in each Act or statute. It is modelled on LexisNexis’ authoritative Halsbury’s Statutes of England and Wales, making the Annotated Laws of Singapore the ideal starting point of research for key legal matters.
The first series of publications that have been published, include the annotations of CDSA and MDA which were co-authored by Chooi Jing Yen and Mervyn Cheong of Advocatus Law LLP.
In December 2021, the annotations of CPC which were co-authored by Suang Wijaya, Joel Wong, Sophia Ng, Chen Yongxin, and Ariffin Sha was made available on Lexis Advance.
3. Conclusion
We hope that our contribution may be of practical guidance for key points of criminal practice and procedure.
