Opening of Community Law Centre in Hougang by ProBonoSG

On 31 January 2023, the first Community Law Centre in Hougang was opened, providing legal advice on a range of issues including criminal law, family law and employment law to residents in the area. This was a joint effort between Pro Bono SG, R.S. Solomon Foundation, Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and Tian De Temple. The centre is housed in container offices on the premises of Tian De Temple and will be run by Pro Bono SG.

Eugene Thuraisingam LLP is proud to have contributed to Pro Bono SG’s efforts to bringing access to justice closer to the heartlands. At a dinner hosted at the Hougang Community Centre to launch the Community Law Centre and to recognise the contributions of various donors, our partner Suang Wijaya received a plague of appreciation from Minister Edwin Tong on behalf of the firm.

The Community Law Centre has begun operations and is currently staffed by two full-time lawyers.
