Eugene Thuraisingam is the Founding Director of Eugene Thuraisingam Asia LLC, a boutique dispute resolution and criminal law firm based in Singapore. A seasoned litigator with over two decades of experience, Eugene is widely recognised for his fearless advocacy, strategic thinking, and unwavering commitment to justice; qualities that have positioned him at the forefront of both commercial litigation and high-stakes criminal defence in Singapore.

Eugene graduated from the National University of Singapore with an LL.B (Hons), earning a place on the Dean’s List. Called to the Singapore Bar in 2001, he trained at Allen & Gledhill and was made partner at the age of 31. He later joined Stamford Law Corporation, where he honed his skills in commercial litigation, before founding his own firm in 2012 with a vision to build a legal practice that champions both professional excellence and social responsibility.

His career has spanned a wide range of complex and high-profile cases, including corporate fraud, constitutional challenges, white-collar crime, and capital offences, many of which have contributed to significant developments in Singapore’s legal landscape. He is known not only for his legal acumen but also for his courage in defending difficult and often unpopular causes, particularly in the public interest sphere.

Today, Eugene focuses on public interest litigation and access to justice, an extension of his deeply held belief in the importance of fundamental liberties and the conviction that no cause or person should be denied justice. He continues to shape the firm’s vision, mentor its lawyers, and lead in cases that reflect his commitment to justice, fairness, and the public good.

As Eugene himself says “We will fight hard and fight on, because that is what fighters do.”

Mission

Eugene Thuraisingam is driven by the conviction that the law should be used to protect, not marginalise. His mission is to ensure that fundamental liberties, such as free speech, fair trial, and equal access to justice, are upheld, even in the face of adversity or public pressure.

He believes that legal advocacy must go beyond technical arguments to confront real human consequences. This belief shapes his work in strategic litigation and constitutional law, where the outcomes often extend beyond individual clients to broader societal impact.

Through his practice, Eugene continues to challenge boundaries in Singapore’s legal system, standing firmly for justice where it matters most.
