Sophia has been involved in successfully securing an arbitral award in an expedited international arbitration, as well as persuading the General Division of the High Court to dismiss a winding up application on the novel basis that it was an abuse of process and part of a conspiracy to wrest control of an iconic Indian vegetarian business. She regularly appears before the General Division of the High Court and the Court of Appeal for both civil and criminal matters. Some of these matters have involved novel points of law.
Sophia’s civil practice includes shareholder disputes, employment disputes, enforcement actions and contractual disputes, many of which include cross-border elements. Her criminal practice encompasses both white-collar crimes such as money-laundering and complex fraud, to serious crimes such as murder and sexual assault. She has also advised both senior executives and companies on regulatory matters.
