Eugene Thuraisingam LLP is pleased to announce the appointments of Chooi Jing Yen and Syazana Yahya as Partners of the Firm with effect from 1 September 2019.
Jing Yen graduated cum laude from Singapore Management University (SMU) in 2015 and was placed on the final year Dean’s List. Jing Yen was called to the Bar in 2016. Jing Yen has successfully argued cases as lead counsel in both the State Courts and the High Court in addition to having acted as assisting counsel in the Court of Appeal. His keen eye for detail and ability to juggle competing perspectives gives him a particular strength in civil litigation matters. He also has extensive experience in criminal matters and often accepts assignments to act pro bono from the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme (CLAS) and the Legal Assistance Scheme for Capital Offences (LASCO).
Syazana graduated from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2015 and was called to the Bar in 2016. She has secured victories for her clients at all levels of the Singapore courts, including the Court of Appeal, and in international arbitrations. She was also a mooting champion in the International Maritime Arbitration competition in 2015. Syazana understands her clients, and advocates fiercely and passionately for them. Syazana is also a strong advocate of pro bono work and regularly takes up appointments with CLAS and LASCO.
We are excited to welcome Jing Yen and Syazana as the firm’s newest partners, and look forward to their continued commitment to providing our clients with quality legal representation!
