On 6 – 7 November 2019, Eugene Thuraisingam attended the inaugural Oil & Gas Myanmar (OGAM) 2019 in conjunction with Maritime Conference Myanmar (MCM) 2019 held at Novotel Yangon Max Hotel, Myanmar.
OGAM 2019 is the only specialised Oil & Gas event in Myanmar that brought together an international congregation of both upstream and downstream Oil & Gas companies and also the supporting industries gathered in Yangon to showcase the latest developments in the Oil & Gas industry. Some of the topics discussed were “Approval of Offshore Supply Bases”, “LNG Imports to Address Energy Gaps”, “Industry Giants Reaffirmed Its commitments to the Oil & Gas industry in Myanmar”, and “Strong LPG Movement”, among many others.
MCM brought together leading industry players and slated to be Myanmar’s most comprehensive international business platform encompassing all aspects of safe guarding, ship building, ship repairs, shipping, maritime engineering, offshore engineering & technology, ports & logistics and more. At the MCM, topics on “New Ports and Infrastructure Developments, Handling Facilities and Logistics”, “Maritime Transport Policy”, and “Marine Insurance Regime in Myanmar – Recent Development and Practices” were discussed by Captain Htay Win (Chairman of MNA), Union Minister of Ministry of Transport and Communications of Myanmar, Director General of Department of Marine Administration of Myanmar, General Manager of Myanmar Port Authority, among others.
