1. ETLLP team attended the Forum

Johannes Hadi, Hamza Malik and Lock Zhi Yong had an insightful evening at the Young Lawyers’ Forum 2019 organised by The Law Society of Singapore at Maxwell Chambers Suites yesterday.

2. Forum Agenda

At the Forum, the topic “Fulfilment in Practice: Is it possible for good lawyers to be happy lawyers?” was discussed with a distinguished panel comprising of Yvonne Mak of TSMP Law Corporation, Harpreet Singh Nehal, SC, and Paul Tan of Rajah & Tan Singapore LLP, moderated by Choo Zheng Xi of Peter Low & Choo LLC and Gerald Tham of Allen & Overy LLP. The Forum concluded with a Town Hall discussion with Gregory Vijayendran, SC of Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP, sharing concerns and issues that young lawyers are facing. The Panel and Town Hall covered a wide range of live issues for young lawyers, from business development to effectively handling their dual role as Officers of the Court and fierce advocate for their clients’ interests.

3. Key takeaways

Our young lawyers came away with a wealth of insight into developing their working relationship with clients and managing partners that will be sure to stand them in good stead at different stages of their practice.
