Asialaw Profiles is Asia’s most authoritative legal directories.
In its 25th annual edition, Asialaw Profiles 2021 reports on the most important matters, transactions and disputes in the region and provides succinct and authoritative guide to the leading law firms and some of their key individuals. The publication comprises recommendations and editorial analysis of 25 jurisdictions of the Asia-Pacific region, including Indonesia, Myanmar, and the Philippines, among others, over 28 legal sectors and practice areas.
It covers various sectors including aviation and shipping, banking and financial services, consumer goods and services, energy, industrials and manufacturing, infrastructure, insurance, materials, media and entertainment, mining, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, real estate, and technology and telecommunications.
Also, the publication does research on practice areas like general business law (covers all practice are in smaller jurisdictions), banking and finance, capital markets, competition/antitrust, construction, corporate and M&A, dispute resolution, regulatory, intellectual property, labour and employment, investment funds, private equity, restructuring and insolvency, and tax.
As an authoritative legal directory, the research process was a stringent one, emphasising on three main criteria: (1) deal/case evidence – gleaned from law firms legal directory submissions, (2) client feedback – all client referees submitted to the publication by law firms as part of the submissions are invited to take part in a survey where referees are requested to rate and comment on the law firms they have engaged, and (3) peer feedback – done by the research team by conducting hundreds of interviews with lawyers to gather their feedback on the legal market and the publication’s ranking.
