Eugene Thuraisingam LLP has been recognised as one of Singapore’s Best Law Firms 2021 by The Straits Times and Statista, and one of the top criminal law firms in Singapore to achieve a five star-rating in the criminal law category.

2. Launch of the Inaugural Survey in Singapore

For the first time in Singapore, The Straits Times and Statista Group, a leading international market research firm, launched a survey on the best law firms in Singapore.

The Straits Times and Statista invited all law firms in Singapore, their clients, and legal industry peers (lawyers in law firms, in-house counsel, and legal executives in companies or government bodies) to participate in the survey in a quest to identify Singapore’s most recommended firms in 15 different areas of legal practice. These legal practice areas included Banking and Finance Law, Commercial Law, Inheritance and Succession, Employment Law, Negligence and Liability, Charities and Pro Bono, Civil Dispute Resolution, Conveyancing, Criminal Law, Family Law, Insolvency and Restructuring, Intellectual Property Law, Maritime Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Real Estate Law.

With support from the Singapore Corporate Counsel Association (SCCA), the survey reached out to more than 3,000 in-house counsel in an attempt to know how in-house counsel selected their panel of law firms in Singapore (whether it is the size of the law firms, expertise of partners, the extensive exposure of a firm or simply pricing that determines choices).

All the recommendations were analysed and studied and the top law firms in Singapore were identified and ranked according to the number of recommendations they garnered. The results were based on more than 10,000 recommendations from 4,716 lawyers, clients, and colleagues. A total of 98 law firms in Singapore are represented in 15 different categories, with 265 mentions.
